Most of us have been conditioned to think that healthy-looking skin comes with a strict skincare regimen. While a regimen is important, glowy skin really comes from the inside out.

The food that you eat becomes the building blocks for healthy skin. Vitamins, minerals, and amino acids are all needed for healthy skin. If you’re over-indulging on sugar, dairy, processed foods, alcohol, or sugar, it’s going to show in your face.

For healthy glowing skin, follow these tips:

Stay Hydrated
Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water throughout the day.

Drink warm lemon water. The water hydrates and plumps up your skin, while collagen-boosting vitamin C from the lemons helps to fight those nasty little free radicals associated with aging and wrinkles.

Eating fresh fruits and veggies also helps you stay hydrated. Incorporate more watermelon, cucumbers, radishes, celery and spinach into your daily diet to “eat your water.”

Increase Omega-3s
Omega-3 fatty acids contribute to healthy cells, which help your skin rejuvenate more quickly, protecting you from wrinkles and sun damage. They also can help to reduce inflammation and acne. Our bodies can’t create these fatty acids so it’s essential you can get enough of them from your diet.

Some foods rich in Omega-3s are salmon, halibut, chia seeds, flaxseeds, and walnuts. Including these regularly in your diet can make your skin glow!

Go Green
Dark leafy greens are loaded with beta carotene – a powerful antioxidant that helps repair and renew your skin. They also alkalize the blood, helping you reduce inflammation and eliminate pesky toxins.So if you want a skin-kissed dewy glow, go green!
