Teatulia - More Than Just Tea

Have you heard of Teatulia, a Denver-based tea company? If you have, due to their delicious tea offerings, you might not know how much of a social impact they are having through their business. It's truly inspiring.

I caught up with Teatulia's founder, Linda Appel Lipsius, to talk about how it all started. Read the interview with Linda here.  More on Teatulia below.

Teatulia is one of the largest tea gardens in the world. They offer garden-to-cup teas from Bangladesh and pride themselves in considering the land, the people, and the environment each step of the way. They have their very own tea garden in the Tetulia region of Northern Bangladesh nestled at the base of the Himalayas, hence the trademark name. Their impact on the area has been a positive one - transforming the region from a wasteland to a prospering, 3,000+ acre organic tea garden.

Not only are they sustainable, they are also regenerative by using only natural farming methods. This means they're actually improving the soil and rejuvenating the land for generations to come.

They're making a huge difference for the people of Teatulia. The co-op members working in the gardens now benefit from innovative education, healthcare, and cattle-lending programs. These provide a big boost for families trying to break out of the cycle of poverty.

Everything they do is thoughtful and intentionally kind to people and the environment. From there earth-friendly eco-canisters and tea bags, their retail packaging alone saved more than 10,000 tons of waste from landfills last year.

I could go on, but I'll let you check out their website for more details. I hope you find Teatulia as inspiring as I do.
